THIS was another week of steady improvement, with a much more solid hockey performance from Tavistock, although the score line suggests otherwise.

The opposition were a skilful and mobile side and Tavistock had to stick to their guns to hold the attacking side at bay for the first quarter of the game.

The match was very much an end to end display, with Tavistock holding a solid defence and also counter attacking at speed through Walker, Elliott and Crossley.

Match day captain Gott organised the defence well, which allowed Anning to hold the midfield. One small lapse allowed the visitors to get through and poke the first goal under Osborne.

The game continued to ebb and flow, but Marjon managed to put their chances away, of which two goals were perfect strikes and Tavistock missed a few opportunities that could have brought the score line closer.
