THE Devon and Exmoor Sheepdog Society held a Novice Championship trial at Middle Merripitt Farm, Postbridge on Saturday. In the Maltese Cross the judge was Walt Passmore from Okehampton.

Seven dogs ran and the winner was David Cole, Bittaford with his dog Flo; second, Jed Watson from Postbridge with Jim and third Jim, Jill Cobbledick of Meeth with Jody.         

In the driving the judge was Hilary Jones of Okehampton, six dogs ran. First was Chris Roe of Cadeleigh with Dave and second Jed Watson with Shep.
