THE hockey match started off in sunny but cold conditions and although the Okehampton ladies'defensive players fought well to keep the opposition away, Exe soon scored their first goal.

The Oke ladies fought back, with Emma Wiseman sprinting past the Exe defenders to have a shot at goal but it was deflected by the goalie.

After a number of short corners against the home side and some heroic deflections by goalkeeper Alice Wiseman, Exe scored their second goal.

Oke defenders Sandy Douglas, Rochelle Hillier and Debbie Pritchard worked hard to keep the ball away from the goal and Louise Weller tackled the oncoming attackers tirelessly, passing it up the line to awaiting players Sophia Marshal and Anna Speak.

In the second half the Oke players attacked the ball and made valuable runs. Exe scored their third goal shortly after the restart due to a delay to play after a heavy hail storm.

Shortly afterwards the ball passed all the Exe defenders to Alex Jordan, who passed it on to Holly Davidson, Oke's player of the match, who scored a goal for the home side.

Charlotte Harper made impressive tackles and successfully blocked numerous balls entering the goal before Exe scored their fourth goal to make the final score 4-1.
