OKEHAMPTON second ladies' hockey team had no league fixture so arranged a friendly match against Dawlish.

Initially, both teams were evenly matched. Oke's midfielders, Rochelle Woollacott, Louise Weller and Viv Weatherington attacked every ball that came their way. Alex Collins and Emma Wiseman moved swiftly around at the front, waiting for a break through ball to strike at goal. However, despite the diligent block tackles from the defence, Nicky Stoneham and Sandy Douglas, Dawlish created an opportunity to earn the opening goal.

Okehampton were slow to respond initially but soon found that a strong run by Hannah Whiteley on the right wing passed the ball to Alex Collins waiting in the D caught the Dawlish goalie off guard and the away team levelled the score. Okehampton worked tirelessly to increase the lead. Katie Adams intercepted and cleared many balls being played between the Dawlish players while goalie Shannon Osman fought to stop as many shots on goal preventing Dawlish increasing their lead.

However, it was not to be Okehampton's day. The final whistle blew with Dawlish winning 3-1.
