TAVISTOCK Athletic Club's rising U17s star, Samuel Lane De Courtin once again excelled in the Newquay 10k recently.

Conditions on the day were near-perfect for Sam's fourth senior race in as many months and he produced another stunning performance in this, only his second race over the distance. Sam crossed the line in 39 minutes 01 seconds, finishing in 51st position overall out of a field of more than 500, and knocking more than two minutes off his Saltram 10k time when he won the race outright. An excellent performance!

On the same day but further from home, new TAC member Sarah Dorrell competed in her second race of the year in the Royal Parks' Foundation half marathon in London, now in its fifth year and raising funds for charity.

More than 11,700 runners from more than 30 countries around the world took part. Sarah had a really good race, gaining a personal best time by over 30 minutes for the distance by finishing in 2.30.01. She was delighted by her performance.
