MOUNT Kelly first XV won the Rendcomb Festival in Gloucestershire r playing six games in challenging condition.

The boys played some excellent rugby; moving and supporting the ball with purpose alongside defending with real physicality and intensity at crucial times.

They drew the first game 0-0 against St David’s College before stepping up the gears to five consecutive games v Kingham Hill 33-0; Kingsley School 26-0; Rendcomb College 36-0; Shebbear College  3-0 and Milton Abbey 21-0.

The whole squad were excellent throughout the festival but notable mentions go to scrum half and captain Freddie Williams who lead form the front, forwards Alex Rowe and Nick Gilbert and lastly Harvey Causer who demonstrated a flawless kicking display.

Mount Kelly recently hosted the U9s’ Rugby Festival welcoming visiting teams from Exeter Cathedral School, Plymouth College, St John’s, Stover, St Peter’s, Trinity School and Truro School for a great afternoon of rugby and sportsmanship.
