BEAUTIFUL winter sunshine tempted a large field to compete in a four ball better ball Stableford front nine and greensomes back nine.

There was a closely fought contest for first place in division one, but after countback the winners were Rob Camies and Barry Down with 42 points from, in second Neil Penfold and John Flavin; third place were Kevin Cornwall and Arnie Searle with 40.

Winners of division two were brothers Paul and Michael MacDonald with 41 points; second were David Lawson and James Etheridge with 39pts on the back nine from, in third Tony Fisher and Paul Fewings.

LAST month at Okehampton Golf Club members competed in a four-ball better ball Stableford competition.

The winners of division one with 43 points were Ted Boswell and Ray Stevens; in second place were Dave Way and Steve Browne with 42 pts just ahead on the back nine from Ray Grey and Bob Collett also with 42pts in third place. Fourth place with 42pts on count back were Rod Wright and Nick Heath.
