Plymouth University C 1

THE young Okehampton hockey team were hoping to continue on their wining streak. The game started fast with Oke having most of the possession and pushing the Plymouth side hard.

It did not take long for them to score their first goal with the returning skipper Brett Lawson blasting a ball into the D to find Jack Watson who's first strike beat the keeper with ease.

Oke continued to play the ball around the field nicely and won several short corners. Unfortunately they were not converted to goals. However they kept pushing and with a ball that started at the back they worked its way to the end of Jack Watson's stick who made it 2-0.

As the first half came to a close Oke went off feeling confident but knowing they should be leading by more.

The second half saw  two players making their debuts — Simon East and Johannis Clifford-Flower in defence, who both had good games and made it hard for the Plymouth side to get through.

Okehampton's Ross Davidson nearly adding another goal within seconds of the whistle.

It didn't take long for Stuart Jarvis to beat two players cooly and pass the ball to Jake Lloyd who slammed the ball into the bottom left corner 3-0.

For a short moment of time Oke switched off and Plymouth managed to stop George Morgan from having his third clean sheet in a row to make it 3-1.

The Okehampton side responded and five minutes from time they won a long corner; Brett Lawson passed to Jake Lloyd who finished them off with his second goal.

Oke man of the match went to Stuart Jarvis.
