THE TAVISPECIALS celebrated their most successful football season so far at their presentation night at the Tavy Club in Tavistock, hosted by Sally Perkins one of the Specials’ trustees.

In the eight years since it has been formed the club has now more than 100 members, having 30 signed on at the moment.

Harry Sharp won clubman for leading the league two side to be champions of the Devon Ability Counts league. Sean Edney won league two player of the year.

Mark Ralph was players’ player and captain Bobby Upham won manager’s player.

Jake Riddolls and Damien Bowyer also won awards.

Andrew Trigger won his usual goal hanger trophy while Billy Venning, the club welfare officer, presented gifts and flowers to volunteers.

The club now looks forward to a summer break with a friendly cup match on Sunday, August 2, for Caroline’s cup, in honour of Caroline Goldring — all money raised with go to Cancer Research. Kick-offs at 11am.
