THE Lamerton Point to Point will be held at Kilworthy, Tavistock, on Sunday.

Despite the wet weather, and the recent snow, the course is well prepared for running on a different layout to recent years with two new fences replacing those on the bottom hedge. Car parking has been altered and spectators will now be able to watch from beside the finishing posts.

There are 98 declared runners with some good quality horses likely to run and there will be six races starting at 1pm. The maiden may be split on the day giving an extra race.

The car and lorry entrances have been altered and there will be access matting at all entrances and exits.

The scheduled races include the Condy Mathias-sponsored Mixed Open, The Tinhay Building Supplies Restricted and Exeter Racecourse-sponsored Intermediate race.

This course usually brings out many local horses including those from the Dean Summersby yard who has several recent winning horses, and also the prolific winning grey horse Dicky Bob owned and trained by Verity Nicholls.

Kilworthy is on the A386 Tavistock to Okehampton road and the course will be clearly signposted.
