POINT-to-Point racehorse enthusiasts will be heading back to Tavistock on Sunday where the Spooners and West Dartmoor Hunt will be staging their meeting at the picturesque course of Cherrybrook, near Tavistock on April 3.

With six races on offer and a start time of 12 noon crowds will flock to this popular picnic track for a family day out where children under 16 get in free.

Local trainer Verity Nicholls will be entering her horse Dicky Bob, already a winner of five point-to-points last season. This striking grey horse has run really well and been in runner up spot on two occasions this season so far at both the hotly contested Chipley Park and Buckfastleigh meetings. Organisers feel he is sure to go well at his local track here in the opening members’ race.

Also on offer is a mixed open race which is a qualifier for the first two ladies past the post to compete in the AGA Ladies’ Open final at Stratford-on-Avon in May.

Exeter Racecourse sponsor the Inter-mediate, which is a qualifier for the Exeter Racecourse Intermediate Hunter Chase finals on Tuesday, May 3.
