TAVISTOCK junior triathlete Pete Jarman was among the 312 entrants who took part in the Exe Valley Triathlon at Tiverton organised by Exeter Triathlon Club. 

Pete swam a 400m pool swim followed by a challenging 24km cycle negotiating fast and busy roads and roundabouts along the A396 and finishing with a 5km run. 

Pete had a successful event and was presented with a prize by the chairman of Exeter Triathlon Club, Rob Moore, for winning the junior male category.  Pete won his category with a finishing time of 1 hour 17 minutes and 26 seconds, nearly two minutes ahead of the second placed junior.

Pete, 15, is a student at Tavistock College.  He trains with Tavistock Athletic Club and Tavistock Swim Club.  Pete is a member of Tavistock Wheelers and Okehampton cycle club and would like to thank them for all their help and encouragement with cycling. Pete competed on behalf of Plymouth Triathlon Club.
