OSCAR Piper, a pupil at Mount House School in Tavistock, won the U9s boys' National Skills Diving Competition by the largest winning margin recorded in this event. The National Skills Diving Competition was held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, one of the biggest diving facilities in the UK. Oscar had to perform 12 dives from a combination of poolside, one metre and three metre boards. More thank 300 children took part across all age bands and Oscar won the U9s boys by more than 50 points, the largest winning margin ever. Oscar, whose ambition is to win an Olympic medal, dives five days per week, as well as training regularly at trampolining and gymnastics.
