OKEHAMPTON Running Club member Christine Fritsch took part in her second Wild Night Running event last Thursday.

The Dark Dart Dash is a 10k night race around the woods of Dartington, although a few extra loops made it slightly over that distance. Just recovering from a cold, Christine was pleased to complete the muddy and hilly course in 1 hour 09 minutes 25 seconds, just missing third place in her age group by a couple of seconds.

Mud and hills were in good supply as usual for the Torrington Christmas Caper on Sunday, although the weather on the day was glorious after a misty start.

With just over nine miles of mud, forest trails, river crossings and steep hills, the Caper is one of the most challenging multi-terrain races in the South West. Three Okehampton runners took part Paul Carter, Mike Baker and Kerry Morashti, all enjoying the challenge and great atmosphere of this popular race.
