TAVYSIDE Badminton entertained Plymouth side Kuasa in division three of the Plymouth and District Badminton League.

The ladies from Tavyside Badminton led the way as they powered their way to three comfortable wins over the Kuasa Ladies. Ellie Drage, Olivia Walker and Jemma McKensie took all three rubbers in two ends to give their side three league points.

In the men's doubles the Tavyside Badminton men found the going somewhat harder. In the first rubber Jonathan Stoecker and Alan Berry lost a close opening game 20 – 22 and came back from behind to take the rubber 21 – 19, 21 – 17. The second rubber was lost by Alan Berry and Barry Simpson and in the third rubber Jonathan and Barry just lost in a third end decider

At the end of the men's and ladies' doubles Tavyside Badminton was 4-2 up on Kuasa with the three mixed doubles left to play.

The mixed doubles all went the way of Tavyside Badminton with Jonathan and Ellie leading the way with a convincing 21 – 10, 21 – 8 win. Alan and Jemma then took the second mixed doubles rubber 21 – 12, 21 – 18 and left it to Barry and Olivia to complete the mixed doubles with a 21 – 18, 21 – 15 rubber win. At the end of the match Tavyside Badminton were celebrating, not only the 7-2 win, but also their first ever league win.
