South Eastern district one Okehampton A 5

Teign A 1

Okehampton A faced top of the table and league champions Teign A in a huge test of Okehampton's mental abilities as much as their playing skill.

From the start the young Okehampton side were up to the challenge with good passing from midfielders Brett Lawson and Sam Whalley, starting wingers Alex Emuss and Simon Bourne and along with Jake Lloyd playing the trequartista role proved successful. They reaped the rewards after five minutes when striker Reinier Rademaker put the ball in the net on the second attempt.

Teign showed why they are the league champions with sustained amounts of pressure in Oke's half with numerous chances at the Okehampton goal, but the defenders, boosted with the returns of Jonny Aylen and man of the match Scott Bending, along with the solid duo of Ian Miller and Tim Morgan kept the away side at bay.

Okehampton responded with scoring a second goal through Reinier Rademaker with a superb flick over the advancing goalkeeper.

The second half was more of the same with Teign having sustained periods of possession but the home defence and goalkeeper Hayden Bond shut out the away sides advances. By half way through the second half Okehampton extended their lead with Reinier Rademaker completing his hat trick with more cool finishing.

Okehampton searched for more goals. Sam Whalley thought he had scored with the faintest of touches but not according to the umpires. Whalley determined to score did so five minutes later from a simple short corner routine, driving the ball low and hard into the corner of the goal. Okehampton were in full flow and making full use of the substitutes of Daan Rademaker, Mike Reynolds and Pete Hutchings all putting sterling performances in when required.

Okehampton scored their fifth with Reinier Rademaker pulling off a huge flick into Teign's 'D' and finished off by goal poacher Alex Emuss

Teign hit a consolation goal beating keeper Bond at his near post by that point Oke had done the hard work and the result was not in doubt. This was a superb result for Okehampton especially with the manner of the victory.
