CADETS from 2443 Okehampton Squadron have represented the town superbly at the Plymouth and Cornwall Wing Athletics Championships. The cadets competed in a range of track and field events against cadets from squadrons throughout the area. The highlights for the Okehampton cadets were a bronze medal for Sergeant Meg Hansen in the discus, a gold medal for Cadet Joshua Cox, who broke his personal best in the high jump, and a gold medal to Cadet Caleb Bourne, who won the 800 metres and picked up bronze in the 1,500 metres. The medals were presented by Wing Commander Francis Rees. Cadet Cox and Cadet Bourne will now go on to represent Plymouth and Cornwall Wing in the South West Regional Championships.
