A TAVISTOCK woman has raised several hundreds of pounds for the British Heart Foundation after completing the Plymouth Half Marathon.

Karen McClung only started running last year, but wanted to complete the half marathon to raise money for the BHF's Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.

Karen said: 'I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me. I completed it in two hours and 29 minutes and managed to raise £550 for the British Heart Foundation in memory of my dad, Pete Redstone, who died in 2010 of heart disease.'

A Horrabridge woman recovering from chemotherapy and radiotherapy has just completed the Plymouth half-marathon in a fantastic time of just 2hrs and 14min. Cate Taynton praised the wonderful care and treatment she has received at Derriford Hospital for her triumphant success and raised more than £1,200 in sponsorship for the Cancer Research UK charity.
