YOUNG Tavistock triathlete Emily Attfield is currently featuring in the CBBC series 'Ultimate Sports Day.'
Emily has had a successful 2011 season which included seven triathlon wins and three in aquathlon.
USD is a new sports based competition for the best young athletes in the UK. Out of all the applicants 78 of the best young sports stars aged between 12 and 16 made it to the elimination process, of these only 16 would remain and make it to the finals and represent their home nation — England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
The youngsters were tested on aerobic endurance, speed, agility, strength and control through a series of activities devised by Professor Greg Whyte.
Emily made the final selection and is currently representing England in the competition.
Each team of four is mentored by a high profile sports star in the quest to become Ultimate Sports Day Champions. Team England is mentored by former decathlete and Commonwealth gold medalist Dean Macey. The games are presided over by Professor of Sports Science Greg Whyte, who guided Eddie Izzard and David Walliams in their running and swimming marathons for Sports Relief.
