NAOMI Jackson from Okehampton who is a student at Okehampton College and member of the Okehampton Table Tennis Club has been selected to represent England in a schools table tennis International in Guernsey.

Naomi, 16, represented Devon in the U19 category at the 2011 Butterfly Schools' Individual Table Tennis Championships at the Dome in Doncaster. This event sees more than 300 players representing 50 counties gather for the finals of the annual championships. Competitions are held at Under 11, 13, 16 and 19 levels for both boys and girls. This is the largest one day event in the table tennis calendar in England. Although eligible for the U16s age group Naomi (as three times Devon U19 schools' champion) chose to play at the higher level.

Following these championships, the English Table Tennis Association select representative teams to play in the Invitation International to be held from 22/24 June 2012 in Guernsey with teams from England, Guernsey, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Scotland and Wales all competing.

Naomi says she is delighted to be selected to represent England Schools on the international stage and is indebted to local individuals, organ-isations and the Okehampton Educational Foundation who provide much needed sponsorship to enable her continued progress and development.
