The ASA South West Regional Relay Championships saw the first ever outing as Mount Kelly Swimming, and the swimmers from Mount Kelly came together to produce some excellent team performances taking a total of ten golds, three silvers and two bronzes. In the first session the Mount Kelly boys in the 4x50 metre boys' free style 13/14 yrs A and B teams won gold and silver; in the 15 and over A and B teams won gold and silver; medley 13/14 yrs A and B teams gold and bronze; medley 15 and and over A team, gold. The second session consisted of the mixed relays, which are a fairly new event, where two boys and two girls compete together in any order. The Mount Kelly Swimming tactics paid off and the team collected a further three golds for the mixed 4x50m freestyle 13/14 yrs A team, medley 13/14 yrs A team and the mixed medley 15 and over A team. The final session was the girls' events, and yet again Mount Kelly Swimming looked impressive from the start, collecting another five medals, all in the 4x50 — in the freestyle 13/14 yrs A, gold; medley 13/14 yrs A team, gold; freestyle 15 and over A and B teams, gold and bronze; medley 15 and over A team, silver. This was a very strong start to the season for Mount Kelly Swimming and the team will now focus on the English Schools Regional Relay Championships, which will take place this week at Millfield School in Somerset.
