MOUNT House School hosted teams from St Peter's, Plymouth College, Shebbear, Tavistock College and Truro at its annual Sevens Tournament, held on a warm, sunny spring-like day. The Mount House campaign began with a loss against a well-organised Plymouth College team, despite a fine try from Joe Beck.

Against Shebbear, the hosts played their best rugby of the day, with Louis Down scoring two tries and Joe Beck one after a great break by Bertie Hughes.

A heavy defeat to St Peter's was followed by a good win against Tavistock College.

Truro won the tournament, with St Peter's taking the runners-up spot..

THE Mount House senior rugby squad enjoyed a successful rugby tour to Cork in the Republic of Ireland, playing matches against three local teams, and making many friends in the process.

The Tavistock team played their first match against Midleton College. Tries from Joe Beck and Alex D'Entrecasteaux could not prevent a 5-2 try win to the Irish.

A 9-0 try win agains Youghal RFC saw Ed FitzGerald player of the match. Mount House tries came from Beck, Down, Strand, Hughes, D'Entrecasteaux and FitzGerald. In the third game the side lost 3-2 against Crosshaven.
