MORE than 40 bowlers turned out for the opening day of the outdoor bowls season on Saturday April 16. The players had a lovely sunny afternoon in which to hone their skills. They also enjoyed an afternoon tea served in the clubhouse midway though their game. It is hoped that, for the first time in three years, the club can have a full season without any restrictions. The first game against Looe was yesterday (Wednesday). Ladies’ captain this year is Val Blair and men’s captain is Tony Smith. Details can be found at tavistock bowling club.co.uk.
