THIS was not the best day at the hockey office for Tavistock men's second team following a strong performance the week before.

 Home side Plymouth Grammar School Old Boys were very strong and the visitors were not helped by having six of their key players missing for this game.

Three-nil down at half-time and Tavistock were in fact playing some positive hockey with good link play from Gott, through to the midfield of Hanson, Honey, Pugsley and Anning.

Bringing Elliott into the game up front, Tavistock were putting pressure onto the home side, but they always seemed to be a man short.

New boys Crossley and Monger continued to work hard, as did the defence of Mason and Glanville, but Osborne in goal was left exposed through the constant attacks.
