TAVISTOCK based Brit Spirit Martial Arts has successfully completed the Children’s University quality assurance process and has now been appointed as an official learning destination for children participating in the scheme.
The Children’s University encourages children to participate in high quality, exciting and innovative learning activities outside of normal school hours. It is aimed at children aged five to 14 and engages the wider community as learning partners. Learning destinations are places and organisations that provide high quality learning activities and experiences with a ‘wow’ factor. With the sponsorship of Plymouth University, certificates are awarded for bronze and silver levels locally, and gold certificates are presented at special graduation ceremonies, held throughout the year.
Brit Spirit’s chief instructor, Peter Smith, said: ‘Being appointed as an official learning destination is very exciting for us. We are very much a family orientated club and this not only gives our younger students a new dimension to their training, allowing them to set goals and be rewarded for their achievements, it also demonstrates that the club has achieved a level of quality and professionalism that Plymouth University is happy to recommend to Children’s University students.’
