THE ninth Open Jujitsu Workshop, organised by Ju Jitsu Tavistock, took place at Tavistock College attracted more than 60 martial artists, ranging from beginners to black belt sixth dan.

They came from Plymouth, Torquay, Liskeard, Truro and as far away as Bristol and Chippenham. The guest instructor from Italy was Piero Rovigatti eighth dan in the art of Goju Ryu Jujitsu.

Club instructor and organiser Umberto Bergonzini, said: 'Another great event which everybody enjoyed. I think this was probably the largest martial arts gathering which has taken place in Tavistock. I would like to thank all the participants for making the day such a great success.

'My thanks also go to the college for making their facilities available and helping Tavistock in consolidating its position as a highly professional place to train in the martial arts.'

Currently all clubs are running beginners courses with the first month free.
