IN division one of the Okehampton and district Table Tennis League Okehampton B were at home to club rivals Okehampton A.

Sarah Jackson did well to beat John Squire in five sets and Nick Jackson won the next against Karen Stephenson to put B 2-0 up. Steve Madge pulled one back against Zoe Bennett and Nick won his second against John for 3-1.

The next was a hard fought game when Sarah took the first two sets but lost the next three against Steve. Nick completed his maximum in a hard fought fifth set win against Steve.

John just beat Zoe 12-10 in the fifth and Karen won the last singles against Sarah.

In another close doubles Karen and Steve beat Sarah and Nick 11-9 in the fifth for a 6-4 win Okehampton A.

League leaders Tavistock enjoyed another 10-0 win - this time against Milton Abbot A.

However, in fourth singles Alex Lenesu just lost out to Peter Hicks 17-15 in the fifth set.

With one match to go Tavistock have already won the league as they are 26 points ahead of Okehampton C, who have two games left to play.

Milton Abbot played Okehampton B who went 2-0 ahead. Nick Jackson beat Michael Blatchford and Sarah Jackson beat Ian Osborne. Alex Awdru Lenesu pulled one back and won his next against Roni Gallardo Bustos. Nick won his next two singles and Sarah had to pull out all the stops in last singles against Michael, who won the first two legs before the former took the next three. Sarah joined Roni to win the doubles against Michael and Ian for a 7-3 win for Okehampton B.

Bridestowe took on Tavistock who completed their last game with a 7-3 win.

Mark Tancock completed a fine maximum for Bridestowe but Roger Bowkett, Mark Bennett and Peter Hicks all won two singles each. Roger and Mark won the doubles against Francis Griffiths for their team’s 14th win of the season and the division one title.

Okehampton C took on Bridestowe. Josh Parsons beat Francis Griffiths to put Oke C ahead. Mark Tancock beat Emily Haskell to level and went on to score another maximum. Oke C won the next three singles. Cameron Brooking beat Phil Down in the fifth set; Emily beat Francis, also in the fifth; Josh won his second singles against Phil and Cameron his second. Francis beat Josh in the last singles as Bridestowe won the doubles for a 5-5 draw.

In division two Anchorage A played club rivals Anchorage B.

In a hard fought match Dave Wilson did well to beat Malcolm Hopkins. In the first Colin Brooker just beat Dave Vanstone to level, winning in the fifth set. Colin went on to score a maximum. Roger Gilbert did well to beat both Colin Jones and Malcolm. Malcolm beat Dave Vanstone in the last singles and joined Colin Brooker to win the doubles against Dave Vanstone and Roger for a 6-4 win for the Anchorage A side

Horrabridge B won their first match against Okehampton E. Eli Holt won two singles and Connor and Tom Madge one each. David Stewart and Jill won the doubles against Tom and Connor, who pushed them all the way - David and Jill won the fifth set 20-18 for a 6-4 win overall to Horrabridge B.

Okehampton E were at home to Moretonhampstead who went into a 2-0 lead. Eli Holt won the next against James May; Connor also beat James. With Moreton leading 3-2 they won the next four singles and Ken Underhill and David May won the doubles against Eli and Connor for a 8-2 win for the visitors.
