HIGH riding West Devon A were belittled 4-1 by a rampant Tavy side who now join West Devon as joint leaders of the Tavistock snooker league and throw the title race wide open.

A close win for Woods over Hurford got the Tavy show on the move only for K Rich to pull West Devon level again. It was all tight games but Tavy in the form of Hicks (34), Hoar and Ryall shook West Devon to take the remaining frames. This was the heaviest defeat for West Devon since last season and only their second defeat this season - the last also being at the hands of Tavy A.

West Devon B came out well on top of their local derby against West Devon C with a resounding 4-1 triumph. Wins for John Rich, Roger Rich (29), Bath and Smith ensured there was no comeback from the C team. A consolation win for Williams over Gilchrist could not conceal a disappointing night for the C team, while the B team now put 'clear blue water' between them and the relegation zone.

There was a surprise 3-2 win for Conservative Z over favourites Conservative B. McKechnie beat B team skipper Andrews in a black ball finish. Cath Friend ripped up the form book to emphatically beat B team's Lillicrap 66-26 - the first time a woman had won a league game since its formation. The win was secured with a close win for Symons over Ewings before the Con B team saved face with wins from M Evans and Dolan.
