Tavistock U15s 15

Devonport Services U15s 22

TAVISTOCK will kick themselves after this loss as they dominated for the first 20 minutes and barely let Devonport touch the ball.

Unfortunately for the home side, despite all of their possession, they only managed the one score in the first half. This was a well worked try, however, with the backs executing a neat move with dummy runners creating space for winger Ben Milligan to race into the right hand corner. James Lewis was unlucky not to add a second right from the kick off fielding the kick and sprinting well into the Devonport 22 before he was tackled. Right on half time Devonport won turn over ball and scored a runaway try to equal the score.

Fortunes seemed to change in the second half and Devonport started much brighter. They drove over to score from a lineout within the first five minutes of the second half. Tavistock regained their composure and bounced back with a second score, again from their top scorer Ben Milligan.

The tough tackling of Theo Cousins, Matt Birch, Richard Cann and some huge hits from Ethan Lamerton were not enough though to deter a physical and straight running Services side and the away team added to their tally with a seven point score.

Tavistock made the last 10 minutes tense for spectators and brought the score to within two after a tap penalty from George Hillson created space for Ethan Lamerton to crash over in the right hand corner.

Devonport had the last word though and sealed their win with the final score in the dying minutes of the game.
