Duchy Premier
Padstow United 0
Lamerton 0
THIS game started at a frantic pace with Padstow trying to make an early breakthrough.
The hosts were handed the perfect opportunity to open the score ten minutes in when they were awarded a penalty after Lamerton Centre half Nick Williams handled the ball inside the penalty area. But Lamerton keeper James Montgomery prevented the hosts from taking an early lead as the keeper saved well down to his left from Kevin Allen's spot kick.
The game began to open up as the half progressed and the visitors looked dangerous on the break.
Paul Cowling opened up the Padstow defence in the 25th minute; however, the centre forward's side footed effort from ten yards sailed wide of the righthand post.
Paul Elbourn came even closer to scoring for Lamerton ten minutes from halftime when the winger cut in from the left flank and struck a looping right footed effort from fifteen yards which struck the crossbar.
The second half started with Padstow centre forward Johnny Murt being taken to hospital with a suspected fracture to his right leg.
On 60 minutes James Montgomery's scuffed clearance from a backpass fell straight to Padstow striker Kevin Allen on the edge of the Lamerton penalty area but Allen's shot in front of an empty net clattered the crossbar and out for a goal kick.
Lamerton player manager Ed Bradshaw who headed wide from six yards with the goal at his mercy, meant that both sides shared the spoils.

Lamerton started the second half on the front foot and went two goals ahead in the 50th minute with a carbon copy of the first goal. Paul Elbourn hit a corner to Ed Bradhaw, whose header from six yards hit the back of the Bude net.
Dominic Rogerson-Mount had the ball in the Bude net in the 75th minute, however the winger's effort was ruled out for a offside decision.
The game petered out in the final stages with Lamerton legs tiring and the Duchy Premier side now progress into the quarter final of the Launceston Cup.
