DESPITE gale force winds the Tavistock Lady Veterans three ball better ball open produced some good scores with the team from Whitsand Bay (Jean Feathers, Carol West and Margaret Hearn) scoring an excellent 81 points.  Second with 75 pts were the St Enodoc team of Helen Russell, Pat Parry and Bobby Rounsell.

The first away prize were Jane Barrington, Susan Short and Mo Hammond from Falmouth with 69 pts. the Tavistock team of Bridget Luckham, Peggy Burge and Patty Congo took the first home prize with 74pts. The best back nine Shirley Trevena, Pat Wylie and Barbara Port (Tavistock); best front nine, Pat Pope, Rosemary Rae and Ginny Samborne (Tavistock).

Tavistock's Bridget Luckham won the nearest the pin on the seventh hole with Mona Carter from Honiton winning nearest the pin in two on the 14th.

In the Ladies' Challenge Bowl, a 36 hole medal competition played over two day in difficult conditions. Dawn Phillott won with a nett 147 to take the trophy with runner up Shirley Trevena on nett 150.  The Pat Turnbull Trophy, played in conjunction with the Challenge Bowl which is for the best gross score over two days, was another win for Dawn with a gross 167; runner up, with a gross 168, was Jayne Wright. 

In the mens' George Kitley Salver Monty Congdon was first in division one with 40pts, second Andy Hicks 37 pts and third Mike Henderson 36pts.  In division two Will Inman won the salver with 41pts, second Shaun Dixon 38pts, third Darren Sturman with 37pts.  With 40pts was Ian Nye in division three, second Lee Bartlett 33pts on countback from Mike Roper.
