Sidmouth and Ottery ladies 0

Okehampton ladies’ firsts 9

OKEHAMPTON travelled to Sidmouth hoping to continue their winning streak.

The visitors’ accurate passing led to Jo Moppett having her first shot on goal, which was flicked into the net.

Sidmouth and Ottery broke through Okehampton and had shots on goal saved by keeper Alice Wiseman. The ball was brought forward by effective passing between Sophia Marshall and Nicola Stoneman which gave Moppett a chance to hit the ball at the post, where Hannah Whiteley was waiting and swept the ball into the goal making it 2-0 for Okehampton.

The third goal was made by Annebelle Rademaker, who, back handed, swept the ball into the net.

However, the home side did not give up and stayed strong but Sophie Whiteley stopped almost every ball which went near her. Kim Davey powerfully hit the ball to Alisa Gibb who then passed to Moppett; Moppett with high speed ran into the D and around the goalie and hit the ball neatly into the goal.

After some great playing Okehampton where awarded a short corner, which allowed captain Davey at the post, to respond to a deflection from a defender which she picked up in mid air, before putting the ball into the corner of the goal.

A Nicky Pedrick block resulted in a pass to Moppett, where she made her hat-trick by pushing the ball flying past the goalie as Oke ended the first half 6-0 up.

Sidmouth and Ottery though kept pushing forward but were blocked by Okehampton’s defence.

A Laura Parsons pass to Moppett ended with goal number seven.

The eighth was made by Laura Parsons, who received the ball from Louise Weller and chipped the ball through the goalie’s legs and into the goal.

The last goal was made by Annebelle Rademaker as a hit from Davey deflected off Rademaker’’s stick and into the goal.

The player of the match was Jo Moppett, even though the rest of the team played excellently.
