Tavistock U13s 19
Launceston U13s 35
ON a bright frosty morning, Tavistock struggled to match some fast tries from Launceston.
In the first half Tavistock spent plenty of time in Launceston's 22 but failed to get over the try line. The scrum, with Pete, Tom and Jake, were working well but the final ball was just letting them down. Two fast tries by the Launceston centres broke the deadlock and Tavistock went into half-time 14-0 down.
Tavistock came out in the second half determined to get something from the game. This paid off when Jude broke free in the middle of the field to score under the posts with Jack scoring the conversion. Launceston came back with a try and the second half followed in this pattern with Conner scoring a try before Launceston posted one back. Jack and Tom provided an excellent move near the end of the game and finally, the second phase of play worked for Tavistock. After drawing the Launceston players over to one corner of the pitch, the ball came quickly out and went via Zac Clifford Flower, Ollie, Hunter and onto Joe Burbage who fed Conner to score in the other corner.

THE match got off to a difficult start for the home team with Exeter showing excellent defensive play as well as a strong attack. This brought several tries for Exeter before Tavistock could even get off the mark.
Some good tackling from James and Ashley and some persistent drives from Barney, finally gave Harry the opportunity to break through for Tavistock's first try.
Despite some excellent passing from Dylan, Exeter continued to dominate the first half. Another try from Harry left Tavistock trailing.
A complete change of personnel for the second half brought better news for Tavistock. Superb passing from all the team gave Luke T a chance to score his first try. Tavistock seemed to have settled into their tackling and only allowed one try other through from the visitors. Seb side stepped the opposition to score another try but it was not enough.

TAVISTOCK could not hold back a buoyant Exeter who continued to score, despite the good tackling by the home side. Great efforts from Dylan and Matthew D ensured Exeter's tries were hard won.
Finally Matthew D found some space and brought home Tavistock's only try of the first half.
The second half again went more in Tavistock's favour. Some tough tackling from all the boys and especially Henry and Luke T meant Exeter struggled to keep up their impressive form.
Seb broke through the defensive line to score a try for Tavistock, shortly followed by Luke T. An outstanding pass from Seb to Luke T gave him a chance to score another. Exeter regained their form with a turnover towards the end and two tries.
This was and evenly matched game and a great effort from all the boys.

MOUNT House School's poor start to the season is now just a distant memory. The unexpected return of Daniel Roberts was a great morale-booster for a depleted front row.
The Mount House forwards dominated the scrum and started to produce quick ball from the rucks. Captain Jack Sharp drove over to score the team's first try. Both teams had good attempts to force their way over the line, but the Mount House defence remained solid and held on for a well-fought, if not stylish, victory.

MOUNT House Colts A team took too long to settle into the match, and went in to half time 0-14 down. They competed much more effectively in the second half, and with Javier Rojo-Llorens making some good runs, Nicky Crighton was on hand to dive over twice from short range, but it was not enough to avoid a 10-21 defeat.
