TAVISTOCK’s new-est judo club made a great start to their medal tally on Sunday in the Devon Mini-Mons competition. 

Held at Torbay Leisure Centre Drake Judo Club fought well against more established teams and came away with six medals. Coach Charles Knape said there was a ‘great effort shown by all and great spirit.’ 

They collected three silver and three bronze medals. 

Drake Judo Club was only granted its licence last week after being visited by the judoka and Western Area technical officer Sandra Klinger.
