Dedicated Swim member Jean Coulthard, from Meadowlands Leisure Centre, Tavistock, took part in the Dartmoor Yomp at the weekend to raise money for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.

The Dartmoor Yomp, sponsored by the Royal Marines Association, is an annual charitable fundraising event run in aid of various charities that support British Armed Forces Royal Marines. Held in the Dartmoor National Park, the 12 mile event is undertaken by disabled servicemen joined by able-bodied former and serving Royal Marines and their immediate families.

The challenge is held over two days with a get together on the Friday and the actual Yomp on the Saturday. Jean and other participants met in Princetown and end their journey in Bickleigh.

Dave Smith, business manager at Meadowlands Leisure Centre said:

'We're thrilled that our very own member went to such lengths to raise money for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund. We're all extremely proud of her and the other participants.'
