TAVISTOCK junior triathlete Pete Jarman competed at the last in the Aquathlon series run by Exeter Triathlon Club.  The event at Exeter University  saw Pete swimming 600m in the open air pool followed by a five kilometer run.

He was the third to leave the pool in a time of 8 minutes 8 seconds but the final lap he overtook the leader to win the event by five seconds in a time of 26min 9 seconds (run 18. 09).

Pete's elder brother, Nick Jarman 24, also took part and despite never having taken part in an aquathlon before, came 39th.  Nick was a member of Tavistock Swim Club and is studying for a PHD in maths at Belgium and Leicester University.

Pete has represented Tavistock Wheelers cycle club at various events. He took part in the British Cycling Youth Stage Race at Westpoint, Exeter and came fifth,  the Pro Support Series at Torquay and again came fifth and also the Team Tor Circuit races at Ilford where he is currently leading the series and is wearing the leader jersey. Pete also travelled to the Regional School of Racing at Bath to attend an Olympic Talent Programme training event.

This is the first year that Pete has competed in circuit racing and he would like to thank Tavistock Wheelers Cycle Club for all their help and support.
