FOUR members of Tavistock Triathlon Club took part in the Iron man Exmoor 70.3. Known as one of the hardest events in Europe, competitors had to swim 1.9km, cycle 90km and run 21.1 km.

All members did incredibly well, Ollie Beilby finished in 5hr 17min and 11th in age group and Pete Moyse in 5hr 44min, Nicky Dean-Simmons came in at 6hrs 50min and was third in her age group; her superb effort has qualified her for the World championships in Australia this September. Fellow TTC Mark Schofield finished in 5hrs 46min.

Cassandra McDowall travelled to Swindon to take part in the Cricklade Triathlon. A 400m swim, 19km cycle and 5km run. She finished in a total time of 1hr 24mins.

Linda Pollard took part in the Leeds Triathlon. Racing alongside the Brownlee brothers in this Olympic distance race, Linda finished in a time of 3hrs 9min.

Three members took part in the Bude Shoreline Triathlon. A 500m sea swim, 11mile cycle and 3mile run. Elizabeth Vernon was first lady overall in 1 hour 11 minutes 52 seconds, Nathan Newton was second male overall in 58:50 and Lindsay Hobbs was fourth in age group in 1.23.38.

Hannah Colston took part in the Croyde Ocean Triathlon. A 1,500m sea swim, 40km cycle and 12km run. She came 3rd in her age group in a total time of 3.24.54.
