MARTIAL artists from the South West, including those from West Devon, were given the opportunity to participate in the fifth Jikishin Summer Camp and competition which took place in Cornwall.

Jikishin is a large jujitsu organisation with clubs all over the UK as well as other countries around Europe and as far away as South Africa therefore its courses are attended by practitioners from all over the UK bringing a great wealth of knowledge and experience.

Umberto Bergonzini, the Tavistock and Plymouth clubs instructor, said: 'I'm thankful to Trevor Wickett, instructor of the Jikishin Jujitsu club in Trewidland, for organising the event and for extending the invitation to me and my students. It was a very interesting course enjoyed by all.'

From September all clubs are running beginners courses. Anyone is welcome to come and try jujitsu be it for fitness, confidence building or wanting to learn self-defence. The first month is free.
