Carlsberg Peninsula South West premier

Tavistock AFC 0

Plymouth Parkway 1

THIS defeat is the third consecutive loss and sees the Lambs drop to fourth position in the league table.

The result was harsh on the home team as the winner came in the second minute of time added on at the end of the game, and enabled Parkway to remain undefeated in the league this season.

The visitors almost took the lead in the sixth minute when Matt David slipped, and Mark Berry shot wide of the target. This stirred the Lambs into action and Jarydd Kelly was pulled down 25 yards from goal. Dave Hallett's perfect free kick found Chris Menhenick but his powerful header went just over the crossbar. The Lambs were having the better of the exchanges at this stage and created a couple of useful chances to open the scoring.

Tavistock's Jarryd Kelly beat two defenders, only to see his shot go wide of the target, before Johnny Wyatt tested the keeper from 20 yards.

The visitors then missed a really good opportunity to open their account after poor marking by the home defence, but Berry once again shot wide of the target. Kelly shot wide of the visitors' goal in the 35th minute.

In the 44th minute the Lamb's Chris Menhenick was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle.

The Lambs defended superbly in the second half, and with Andy Meeds in superb form, the home team dealt admirably being a man short and there was still little to choose between the two sides.

In the 75th minute Meeds produced a magnificent save to turn Warren Daw's fierce drive over the bar. Five minutes later Daw was dismissed for a foul on Dave Hallett.

The goal came in the second minute of injury time, when Mark Berry fired home at the far post, with the Lamb players and supporters protesting for handball.

This was another game where the Lambs have been on the wrong end of the result, when they really did deserve at least a point.

The team now need to bounce back and get a win in order to regain their confidence.
