Plymouth University B 5

IT is hard to gauge this from the score line, but Tavistock put in a much improved performance in this game. Still working on the new structure and with some new young players, Tavistock doggedly stuck to the task.

After the early pressure, it came down to some individual errors that let the University score and this seemed to send Tavistock into a panic, where the home side continued to pressure and force more of the same. Once Tavistock were 4-0 down they seemed to realise how they can play and with the formation working and some good network passing Tavistock started to apply pressure of their own.

After the break, Tavistock were well in the game and after long periods of pressure, captain Anning scored an excellent goal, with a flick past the diving keeper.

Tavistock continued to pressure and could have added to the score line but missed some superb chances to close the gap. Great performances from Josh Walker and Harry Donnelly added a real pace to the Tavistock side and the welcome return of John Elliott can only bode well. The University B scored their last goal in a breakaway move.
