Tavistock seconds 14
Ivybridge seconds 41
WITH Ivybridge unable to field a front row, this top of the table clash had to be played with uncontested scrums - much to the frustration of Tavistock.
Ivybridge played with the wind and slope advantage in the first half. Due to enforced changes due to injury and unavailability, Tavistock failed to produce their usual solid teamwork and struggled to cope with the pace and movement of the Ivybridge backs.
Halftime arrived with the visitors having scored four tries, which with three conversions and a penalty, gave them a lead at the changeover of 29-0.
With the advantage of the elements, Tavistock produced a much improved display in the second half, scoring two good tries of their own, by fullback Ben Palmer and winger John Toms. Flyhalf Josh Leeson converted both tries.
However Ivybridge scored two further tries with one conversion, to bring the final score to 41-14 in favour of the visitors.
This was the last home game for the Tavistock Seconds this season and having won all of their previous home games, was a disappointing way to finish.
