Tavistock ladies 6

Camborne ladies 1

CAMBORNE went straight on the attack and put the home defence under pressure.

It held out thanks to several strong clearances from Eleanor Mills-Hicks. Tavistock broke on a counter attack and opened the scoring from a strong strike by Sarah McClumpha.

Tavistock worked hard to keep the possession but managed to break several of the defence hit outs from Camborne.

Following a strong ball from Tavistock's Armstrong, Hannah Colston chipped the ball in from the left post. This was shortly followed by another goal from captain Laura Armstrong.

Camborne continued to move the ball around at pace but this was cut out by Tavistock who scored from open play with a flying top corner strike from Sarah Law.

The score was 4-0 to the home ladies at half time.

After the interval Camborne had made some changes to their defensive line and were now sticking tightly to the Tavistock attack and midfield. Langsford, Grainger and Lamb worked hard for Tavistock to feed the ball in following several strong runs but each attempt was cut out by the Camborne defence.

Both teams were awarded several penalty corners and Tavistock finally converted one when Langsford fed a short ball in to Colston who struck the ball in on the left post.

Camborne scored a goal past keeper Viggars after several quick passes in front of goal.

With minutes to spare a final corner was awarded to Tavistock, which was converted by Colston for her hat-trick.
