TAVISTOCK Swimming Club took a number of their new members last month to a gala at Parklands Leisure Pool in Okehampton.

Competing against Okehampton Otters Swimming club it was, for a number of the Tavistock swimmers, their first experience of taking part in a swimming gala and being part of a competing team.

Each team had two lanes each, so the swimmers were given the opportunity to swim several races. The swimmers produced some good races and results, with Tavistock Swimming Club coming out on top at the end of the day. The gala was completed by a fun race for the coaches and club captains, who had to swim 25m each wearing a t-shirt.

The TSC members who took part in the gala were: Sophie Anderson, Gemma Arundel, Gavin Ball, Olivia Bates, Sam Bates, Annabel Botham, Sam Cade, Jessamy Clemens, Johannis Clifford-Flower, Zachary Clifford-Flower, Harriet Edwards, Matt Edwards, Emily France, Jake France, Alex Francis, Amber Francis, Tess Harland, Thea Harland, Cameron Hart, Ryan Helcoop, Pete Jarman, James Lake, Josh Lake, Alice Lamb, James Lamb, Charlotte Love, Ryan Lillyman, Ellena McCall, Chloe Marks, Cameron McGurk, James Meredith, Laura Meredith, Jemma Ninnis, Ieuan Noakes, Nathaniel Rookes, Izzy Teague, Beth Thompson, Morgan Turnock, Henry Ware and Annaliese Wright.
