CORNISH senior golfers won the annual match played over two legs against Devon seniors recently. The Cornish Senior Golfing Association beat the Devon Men Veterans' Golfing Association 7-4 in the first leg at Launceston and then won 6-5 at Tavistock to record a 13 games to nine overall victory. Twenty-two two-man teams picked from clubs throughout the two counties competed in each of the events. The win puts Cornwall in the overall lead having won the trophy eight out of 15 times. The trophy was presented to Cornish captain Preston Ford of Porthpean Golf Club by his opposite number, Mike Kirkham of Exeter Golf and Country Club.
