YELVERTON Golf Club’s scratch team were victorious winners of the Parker Trophy at Dainton Park, with a 5-4 victory over Sidmouth on September 18.

The event was played over 36 holes with foursomes in the morning and singles in the afternoon. Yelverton won the morning foursomes and went in to the afternoon singles with a narrow 2-1 lead.

The Yelverton team looked to be cruising to a comfortable win as they were up in five matches and down in one, but Sidmouth started clawing their way back, but Yelverton held on two draw the afternoon matches 3-3 and get the points for an overall win.
