THE winners of the autumn mixed open at Yelverton Golf Club were Mr and Mrs Gawman from Tavistock Golf Club with 42 points. Second were Mr Gard and Ms Gard (Yelverton GC) with 42pts and third Mr and Mrs Richardson (Holsworthy GC) with 41pts.

Richard Gard and his daughter Sarah Gard won the Carnival Cup. This trophy is presented to the Yelverton pair with the best score in the Autumn Mixed Open. The cup is engraved ‘Plymouth Week Cup’ and was presented in 1928.

n Yelverton  Golf Club veterans held their monthly individual Stableford competition on September 16.

First equal with 36 points were Eric Whyte and Dennis Voisin. In third on 35pts was Keith Glassbrook and fourth equal, on 33pts, Nick Ring and John Greenwood.
