AT Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday a large field entered a men’s fourball better ball open competition.

The overall winners with 48 points were Steve Peake and Matt Parry from Okehampton.

Josh Stacey and Simon James were second with 46pts and brothers Paul and Michael MacDonald were third with 45pts. The best visitor prize was awarded to N Holland and S Bater from Sidmouth with 41pts and second visitor prize went to N Sellick and C Channon with 40 pts. Best Okehampton/combination prize was won by Alan Stokes and Ian Moore with 44pts.

The ladies’ section had a medal competition for the President’s Salver and this was won by Sue Williams from the silver division with a superb nett 66.

Marcia Collett was second with nett 72 and Francis Harbron was third with nett 74. The bronze division was won by Michelle Widdows with nett 69, Doris Jewell was second with nett 72 and Janice Thwaites was third with nett 75. Sue was presented with her trophy by the club’s lady president Doris Jewell.
