THE winner of Yelverton Golf Club ladies’ April Medal competition bronze section was Sue Rumbold with a score of 74; Sue she was also the overall winner.
Helen Harris won the silver section with 74 while Rosamund Kikidas achieved the lowest gross score with 77.
The May Medal competition was won by Linda Woods in the bronze section with a resounding score of 66 nett, while Mair Preston-Jones won the silver section with a score of 74. Rosamund Kikidas, again, recorded the lowest gross score with 77.
In the Devon League, Yelverton ladies were away to Portmore Golf Club, which they won narrowly; this levelled the scores for the home and away legs.
Yelverton President’s team played their first match of the season at home to Tiverton. The match ended in a draw.
The ladies’ Silver and Bronze Open was held at Yelverton Golf Club last month.
The winners were Belinda McSherry (silver) and Carolyn Crawford (bronze).
The Closed Course competition was started between the ladies’ sections of Tavistock, Royal North Devon and Yelverton after their courses had been closed in 2001 during the foot and mouth outbreak.
This annual event rotates between the three clubs and this year was held at Yelverton. Yelverton were this year’s winners of the trophy.
* YELVERTON Golf Club veterans held their monthly Individual qualifier /Millenium Quaich trophy Stableford competition on May 3.
First place with 41 points was Tony Westacott; second, on 41 pts on count back was Graham Plumb and third, 39pts John Adams.
