DESPITE damp conditions on Saturday, an enjoyable Texas scramble competition was hosted by club professional Ashley Moon at Okehampton Golf Club.

The winners with a fantastic net 51.5 were Alan Searle, Martin O’Connor, Kevin Cornwall and Pete Okopski, followed in second place with net 53.5 by Gareth Holt, Kevin Perryman, Phil Atherton and Richard McFarlane.

Third place was taken by James Stacey, Steve Mander, James Hall and Simon James with net 54.3 and in fourth place with net 54.9 were Paul Prouse, Ian Moore, Ricky Wooldridge and Daniel Hudson.

The winners of the best mixed team were David and Sue Williams and Penny and Allen Deakin with net 59.8.

The ladies played their September medal competition on Wednesday and the winner of the silver division with nett 71 was Sue Stanbury.

In second with nett 77 was Maggie Caws after countback on the back nine from, in third Francis Harbron.

The bronze division was won by Anne Brokenbrow with nett 75, Mary Keir was second with nett 79 and third place was taken by Michelle Widdows with nett 80.

The Frank Dann Trophy for the best net score in the seniors’ September monthly medal was won by John Haley with a net 65. The trophy for the best gross score was won by David Williams with 76.
