MORE than 70 players took part in Pro Shop Grand National Stableford at Tavistock Golf Club. 

Organised by club professional Glenn Richards and played in not ideal weather conditions, the competition produced some remarkably close results. 

Top of the board with a score of 37 points was Philip Riley, second Tom White with 36pts on count back from Nick Mier and in fourth place was Graham Caines with 35pts. 

The next five players had 34pts on count  back followed by four players with 33pts,  nine players with 32pts, five with 31 pts, nine with 30pts, 11 with 29pts — the remaining scores were also very close.

The Marilyn Allen Trophy for past lady captains was played in conjunction with the monthly medal.  First in division was Sarah Hanson with a net 70, second Nicky Gawman net 77 and third was Kayleigh Cann with net 78.  With the excellent score of net 66 was Val Jarman  first in division two, second Pat Taylor net 74 and  in third place was Ginny Samborne with net 75. 

The winner of the Marilyn Allen Trophy was Margaret Burn with net 77.

The lady veterans had their second home win of the season beating Looe four and a half to one and a half.
